Meet Val who is the owner of Mirabella Beauty Salon.  Val qualified as a Beauty Therapist in 2015, after deciding to have a complete career change and follow her passion for beautiful skin.

Which beauty treatments do you love doing? I love facial treatments and skincare.  It really gives me pleasure helping my clients to achieve their skin goals.  Sharing my product knowledge in order to give my clients the confidence to develop an at home skincare regime. 

What do you love about your job? It is really important for me to provide our clients with 5 star treatments and ensure that every client leaves the salon feeling good from the inside out!

What is your ultimate ambition? It is my ambition to continue to have a calm, harmonious salon and to make a difference to every client that we deal with.

Tell us something about yourself that would surprise others. Some people would be surprised to know I have run The London Marathon twice - the first time in 2009 and again in 2012.

How would you describe yourself in 3 words? Passionate, caring & with integrity.

Meet our receptionist Angie Bowden who joined the team in August 2021.  She has spent most of her working life 'front of house' in a broad range of roles including greengrocers, auxiliary nurse, cabin crew and licensee in several pubs with restaurants. 

What do you love about your job? I love working on Reception. It’s the first time I have ever used a booking system so I feel that I’m learning new skills within my job. I love being able to welcome clients existing and new into the salon and help make their day a little bit more enjoyable 

Who or what inspires you?  Nature inspires me. I could never get bored with all the wonders of the world from crashing waves and rainbows to little birds on my bird feeders!

What is your ultimate ambition? My ultimate ambition is to buy a Motorhome and travel around Europe with my husband and dog for at least 3 months!

Tell us something about yourself that might surprise others.  You might be surprised to know that I’ve sung on stage in the West End in ‘Motown the Musical’.

How would you describe yourself in 3 words? Compassionate, friendly, easy-going, 

Meet Sarah who is one of our new beauty therapists at Mirabella Beauty Salon.

Which beauty treatments do you love doing? I love doing all aspects of beauty, but specialising in eyebrows and lashes are definitely the treatments I love doing the most. I’m also very recently really loving getting back into nails and every client is so different and it’s a very satisfising treatment to do. I honestly can't choose as I also love doing facials and massage as I find it so calming to perform the treatments.

What do you love about your job? I love everything about the beauty industry, I have been doing it since I was 17 and have never fallen out of love with it. Every single day is different and I love meeting different characters every day it keeps it fun and exciting. I love the fact that training in the industry is so fast pace, there’s always something new to learn and to build up your skills and qualifications I think that’s why I haven't ever been bored!

What is your ultimate ambition? My ultimate ambition is definitely to get into training, I would love to have my own academy and people training under my name so I can give new therapists the tips and tricks of the industry and let their passion for the industry grow. That would definitely be by ultimate goal.

Tell us something about yourself that would surprise others. The last 6 years I’ve actually been living abroad with my partner. We lived in Sydney, Australia, about a 10 minute walk from the famous Bondi beach. I had my own lash and brow company out there, it was such a fun part of my life. We recently made the move back to the UK in June 2023 to settle down back home to be with our friends and family.  

How would you describe yourself in 3 words? Fun, bubbly and hardworking.

Meet Abi who is one of our new beauty therapists at Mirabella Beauty Salon.

Which beauty treatments do you love doing? I enjoy doing lash lifts, brow treatments and gel nails.

What do you love about your job? What I love about my job is that everyday is a challenge, this is because every client is different and wants different things. Another thing I love about my job is the people I work with, we all work as a team and it makes working at Mirabella really enjoyable.

What is your ultimate ambition? My ultimate ambition is to work my way up on the beauty path and eventually go into aesthetics. I’m really enjoying the beauty career already and I’m feeling really strong about it and I would like to achieve this career.

Tell us something about yourself that would surprise others. I also have another hobby which is horse riding that I do on the side whilst working at Mirabella. I have been doing it for 10 years now!
